African Dance Classes at Saint Joseph's Cultural Center
Afro-Brazilian Dance w/Deanna Figueira Tuesdays 5:30-7:00 PM $12.00 For more info call Deanna @ 575-6343 or deannayoga@yahoo.com Afro-Brazilian dance is a blend of contemporary w/the traditional and folkloric dances of Brazil, influenced by Africa and Latin America. The class is a fun aerobic workout, and accompanied by the Samba Louco drummers. Deanna Figueira has been dancing all of her life and teaching Brazilian dance since 1995. She has extensively studied many varieties of Brazilian dance, but teaches primarily Afro, Maculele, Samba reggae, and the dances of the orixas. Deanna, who currently lives in Brazil, will teach this class until September.
Tribal Fusion Dance Class Tuesdays, 5:30 – 7:00 PM Sara Keller teaches the class October through June
Central African/Congolese Dance Classes Thursdays, 5:00 – 6:30 PM Levels of instruction offered for beginners and those with some experience.Dance taught by Cai Sorlein (288-3603). Live Drumming led by Kit Bailey.
